A New Beginning
Every journey has a beginning and our started 9 years ago when my wife Mary and I planted a church in Newport, RI called New Beginnings Praise & Worship Center. We started with 5 members at the local community center and were naïve enough to believe that God can do the miraculous in our ministry and city.
Here we are 9 years later with more than 150 members getting ready to purchase our first building. The St. George’s Church is more than 100 years old and has had a vibrant history of reaching out into Newport Country. So here we are a bunch of people from every denomination, culture, and economic background united together to see the Kingdom of God expand in our community.
Our mission is simple, “Building Bridge Toward Purpose and Destiny.”
My wife and I wanted to build a ministry that has no walls denominationally, racially, or economically but would embrace people from every walk of life and introduce them to Jesus. The church was too divided and people of difference races and cultures did not worship together in our community. America is mostly segregated on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
But we see change coming for the better as we have partner with various churches in Newport County that have one passion, to see the name of Jesus Christ exalted in our community. We may still have a ways to go but at least we have started the journey together.
God truly deserves all of the Praise and Glory!

My family & I have been attending for almost 31/2 yrs. We love this church and love all of the different clutures. Everyone has so much love for one another, it truly blesses my heart. I remember the 1st Sunday I went there by myself to check the church out. I was blown away by the love & acceptance that was shown to me as well as the others who were there for the 1st time. God is truly lifted up @ NBPWC and the annointing is so strong & powerful. What I truly love is that it is not a man-made or man-controlled service. It is truly controlled by the Holy Spirit and the man & woman of God P. Steve & P. Mary} are truly sensitive to His leading & annointing. They have been a strength to us & a true blessing to our family.

Go Pastor…Go Pastor…Go Pastor!
We LOVE our Pastors Mary and Steve because they’re as real as they come. God has given us double the blessings with TWO of the most loving and faithful sheperds you could ever find!
We lift them up for continued guidance, prophesy and love from the Lord.
God is miraculously taking us to a new level which would not be recognizable without them. Thank you Lord for placing me in the right place at the right time. Praise the Lord, I’m heading for the Kingdom!! Yahoo! And thank you Jesus! Amen to that!

hi PastorSteve !
Finally took the time to look into your blog!
I join the others in praising God for my home church at CrossPoint.
It is definitely my spiritual source and solid base when in RI.
Thank you for heeding the call to minister to us. You and Pastor Mary are like family to me. And in the short time I have been in attendance I consider myself fortunate and blessed to to have found you all.
May Jesus continue to shine through this ministry
Shalom and love, k
